Today my roommate and I went to eat dinner. We went to a fabulous restaurant called Homeburger.
http://www.homeburgerbar.com/
We called them @ 8 to see if we could make a reservation, or if we could just show up.
The chick on the
phone informs us that they open at 8:30, but we could come then. I give her my name anyways, and we stall until dinnertime.
We leave our house at 8:20, arrive to Homeburger at 8:22 (yup we're that close!)
The floors are sopping wet, the staff is sitting around gabbing(maybe painting the
ir nails?) and they all look at us rather disapprovingly upon our entrance.
"We're Closed,"The waitress informs us.
We look at our watch, its now 8:24, couldn't we just sit at the bar?
Nope.
They inform us we have to come back at 8:30.
We walk around our hood for a bit, pretend to be interested in some shoes and buy some slices of sausage.
We return to the restaurant at 8:32.
Floor is no longer looking dangerous, it is now dry. The restaurant remains empty and the staff remains seated at the bar.
The woman looks at her watch as we approach the door, and informs us we can come in (8:32)
How kind.
We sit down and are overwhelmed at the wonderful service.
Keep in mind, we were the ONLY ONES in the entire restaurant.
We order, enjoy our food and conversation. Certainly lacking was the atmosphere, apparently nobody eats until 9:00 here. Well, not us, we were hungry.
